Tips for Using Dilators Safely and Effectively

  1. Gradual Progression: It can be tempting to move up quickly in dilator sizes or start with the largest size in hopes of speeding up the process. However, this approach may be counterproductive and lead to overstretching injuries. Vaginal recovery is a gradual process. It's important to be patient and increase dilator sizes step-by-step to avoid potential injuries.
  2. Hygiene and UTI Prevention: Using a dilator can be physically similar to sexual intercourse, where the movement can potentially transfer bacteria from the skin into the bladder, leading to a urinary tract infection (UTI). To minimize this risk, it's advisable to urinate immediately after each dilation session. This helps flush out any bacteria that may have entered the bladder. Additionally, drinking plenty of water before your exercise can help maintain adequate urinary flow and pressure, further aiding in the prevention of UTIs.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a safer and more comfortable experience with dilator exercises.

Customers' reviews on vaginismus relief

Primary vaginismus
NeuEve Silver
Kay

It helped me a lot with my primary vaginismus. I was able to insert the 3rd size of my small set dilator. I will continue using these products. They give great results
Changed my life
Marie - AV Clear
I was repeatedly misdiagnosed over the course of 1.5 years. I had itching, painful discharge, and my labia were often so swollen I could barely walk (I'm not even kidding - by the end of the day, I was limping because I was so inflamed). I had to stop running and lifting weights because any sweating caused extreme irritation. My OB attempted to treat for BV and yeast 3 different times, performed a punch biopsy (after scaring me by saying I had possible lichen sclerosis; obviously not a common diagnosis at 27), and told me to apply clobetasol. Looking back, I realized my AV was extreme enough that it could have probably been categorized as DIV, as that tissue maceration and ulceration were occurring. I was also told I have vaginismus and was sent to behavioral health and pelvic floor physical therapy because I couldn't tolerate pelvic exams.

When I had a profound flare this spring, I did a deep dive on Reddit and found out about AV and this company. I asked my provider to perform a vaginitis panel and ordered a Juno Bio kit to confirm her findings for myself (the Juno Bio kit is taking ages to result, but my provider's tests came back positive for classic digestive tract bacteria, as I expected. Because of this, I felt comfortable proceeding with AV clear). I just finished my first box of AV Clear, and I can truly say, for the first time in over a year, I have my life back. I went from extreme burning discharge and edematous tissue to almost nothing overnight. When I tell you I CRIED with relief. I was able to go to the mall the next day and walk around for hours with my sisters without limping in pain!!
I finished my first box of AV Clear slowly because it caused a lot of irritation. I did what one reviewer on here suggested and inserted 1/3 of a suppository per night. At the end of the box, I took a 1-night break. I did have some very slight itching/burning return, so I plan to complete a second box of AV Clear once my period is over and reassess before beginning my maintenance.

- I should caveat all that by saying, my swelling was so extreme at the start of treatment, I could not get the suppository very high in the vaginal canal, so I do think I probably have some remaining bacteria higher up, and I plan on using applicators to insert this next round as high as possible now that my swelling/pain has subsided. I am also taking oral probiotics twice per day, drinking kefir and kombucha, and washing my anal area with gentle soap 1-2 times daily (as suggested by Neueve staff).-

IN CONCLUSION, to all the ladies on the fence about getting proper testing, demanding accountability from your healthcare providers, and pursuing treatment with Neueve - PLEASE DO IT. It can be scary taking the situation into your own hands and going against conventional provider recommendations, but if I hadn't, I don't think I would have ever gotten better. As someone who hasn't had kids yet, I often wonder if I would have been diagnosed as "infertile" because of this issue and unable to maintain a pregnancy. AV is a debilitating condition, and THIS COMPANY CAN HELP YOU. THANK YOU NEUEVE!!!!!!
