Antibiotics failed to clear my infection. Lab test showed Enterococcus and Klebsiella. Can NeuEve help?

"I’m 37 and have been on birth control for 8-9 yrs and I started feeling vaginal irritation for years. Last March it got so bad that I looked in the mirror and my vagina just shrunk. Very thin skin and super sensitive to everything. I went on the pill 3 months after giving birth to my daughter as I had repeat mastitis so stopped nursing. I took 6 weeks of Augmentin to try to get rid of it but now found the vaginal infection is resistant to Augmentin. My vaginal Microgen test showed Enterococcus faecalis and Klebsiella aerogenes. Can NeuEve help me?"

Thank you for the detailed information. Your status is a little complicated.

Enterococcus faecalis and Klebsiella aerogenes are bacteria that usually acquired from fecal material. The infection may affect both the vagina and the bladder considering the two openings are close. Infection in the vagina is called aerobic vaginitis (AV) as opposed to bacterial vaginosis (BV). Infection in the bladder causes chronic UTI as opposed to the acute UTI associated with E. coli.

The infection may be associated with reduced resistance due to tissue atrophy resulted from long-term use of birth control pills and/or breastfeeding, which reduce the estrogen level. This type of infection is more common in postmenopausal women because they all have reduced estrogen related vaginal atrophy.

To understand why vaginal or bladder atrophy may reduce resistance to bacterial infection, you may find this article helpful:

Enterococcus and Klebsiella are tough bacteria to treat with antibiotics because they often develop drug resistance (

NeuEve can help you fend off these bacteria naturally. NeuEve works by reversing tissue atrophy to boost its resistance and by changing the environment in which bacteria reside. Therefore, NeuEve can get rid of these bacteria even if they are drug resistant because NeuEve is not a drug and it does not matter if the bacteria resist antibiotics or not.

At 37, the right product for you to start is NeuEve Gold.

Due to sensitivity caused by inflammation, you may feel burning or irritation when you start using the product. To avoid possible intolerance, you can cut one suppository into two halves and use only a half suppository every other day. After that, you can use a whole suppository without a problem because your inflammation will be partially suppressed by using the half suppository. Once you can tolerate the Gold without a problem, you can use it once every 3 days to speed up the healing.

Please follow the suggestions in this article:

How to clear BV or AV with NeuEve Gold, Silver, or Silk suppositories or cream?

After your infection is under control, you will need to do a health maintenance using Gold for 3 months. Please follow suggestions in this article. Even though your infection is not BV, the principle is the same.

How to stop BV from coming back?

Most women with vaginal atrophy related AV and/or UTIs find relief after using NeuEve Gold for 3 months.

However, if after you use 3 packs of NeuEve Gold, your infection is still not cleared and you are younger than 50, you can move up a level to BV Clear.

If you are older than 50, Gold is the highest level for you. You can continue using NeuEve Gold for infection control.

BV Clear is stronger than Gold for clearing infection, but it may cause burning if used upfront if you have vaginal atrophy. Using Gold for 3 months your atrophy will be reversed. You can move up to BV clear as you will be able to tolerate the stronger product for infection control.

If after you use 3 packs of BV Clear, your infection is still not cleared, you can move up a level again to BV Clear Finisher.

In addition to using NeuEve Gold, BV Clear or BV Clear Finisher, I suggest that you do the following:

  1. Drinking lots of liquid, like water, soup, juice like cranberry juice except alcoholic beverages to flush the bacteria from your urinary tract.
  2. Boost your immune system by taking a daily multivitamin and calcium, vitamin D3 and K2 pills.
  3. Always wipe front to back after a bowel movement to prevent bacteria from finding its way into your vagina and urinary tract.
  4. Clean your genitals thoroughly with warm water and mild soap at least once a day and after sexual intercourse. Also, urinate as soon as you feel the need to avoid a buildup of urine in your bladder.

I hope that you will find relief soon.
