Since you are over 70 and you are super sensitive, we recommend that you continue using the Salve Gentle. However, you should take more caution. Here’s a suggested plan:
- Application: Start putting in a smaller amount than a rice grain. Use your finger to gently press the salve. The heat of your body will help the product to melt and it will allow you to apply a thin layer in your external vulva before bedtime. You should be doing this daily for the first week. If you still experience mild burning, try to be patient since your body needs to adjust over time.
- Increase gradually: If you feel comfortable after the first week, you can increase the amount to a rice-sized portion for the following week. Only increase the amount if you feel ready. You should see how your body reacts. It’s very important for you to increase the amount whenever you feel ready. How to cut a suppository to reduce the dosage?
- Suppositories: After using the Salve Gentle for about a month (and only if you sensitivity has improved), you may introduce Velvet suppositories to your routine. Start with a quarter of a suppository daily. After four days, only if you feel comfortable, you can increase half a suppository every two days. This gradual approach will help your body adjust more comfortably.
If you use half suppositories for a few weeks, you will be able to tolerate a full suppository once every 3-4 days or twice a week. Once you tolerate a full suppository, you are on the right track to recovery.
