I am over 70 and ordered Velvet and Salve-Gentle. I felt burning after using Salve-Gentle. What should I do?

Thank you for sharing your age. I’m here to help you find a solution that works for you.

Given your heightened sensitivity, I recommend continuing with the Salve-Gentle as you have been, but with a very cautious approach. Here’s a suggested plan to help you ease into using the product:

  1. Initial Application of Salve-Gentle: Start with an amount smaller than a rice grain. You can use your index finger to gently press on the balm; the warmth from your body will help melt it slightly, allowing you to apply a thin layer to the external vulva at bedtime. This should be done once daily for the first week. If you experience any mild burning, please try to be patient, as your body may adjust over time.
  2. Gradual Increase: After the first week, if you feel comfortable, you can gradually increase the amount to a rice-sized portion for the following week. Continue to monitor how your body reacts, and only increase the amount if you feel ready. It’s important to never exceed a pea-sized amount in one application.
  3. Transition to Suppositories: After using the Salve-Gentle for about a month and if your sensitivity has improved, you may consider introducing the Velvet suppositories. Start with a quarter of a suppository once daily. After four days, if you feel comfortable, you can increase to half a suppository every two days. This gradual approach will help your body adjust more comfortably. How to cut a suppository to reduce the dosage?

After you use half suppositories for a few weeks, you may be able to tolerate a full suppository once every 3-4 days or twice a week. Once you can tolerate a full suppository without feeling irritation, you will be on the fast track to recovery.

I hope this plan helps you find relief and feel more at ease with the products.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.
