Can men pass yeast to women?

Vaginal yeast infections are not considered sexually transmitted infections. However, during intercourse, microorganisms and semen introduced from the male partner can cause interruption of the balance in the vaginal ecological system, in which indigenous Candida yeast exists. When yeast overgrows in the vagina, infections occur. The source of yeast could be from the partner or previously indigenous to the woman. You may find this article helpful:

Can a Man Give a Woman a Yeast Infection?

Men rarely get yeast infections. At least, they do not show symptoms. However, this does not mean they cannot be a carrier. If you are sexually active and you are suffering from recurrent yeast, the chance is high that your partner may also be infected and become a carrier. Even though men do not show symptoms, men can pass yeast back to women. This may be one of the reasons that cause yeast to recur.

We suggest that during and after your treatment, you should refrain from having intercourse for at least two weeks. Since latex condoms are not compatible with NeuEve, you may use non-latex condoms like polyurethane condoms if you choose to use condoms.

The presence of Candida yeast in the male partner can be managed with time and good personal hygiene practices. Washing with soap can help eliminate yeast from the skin surface. It may take up to two weeks of consistent hygiene practices to significantly reduce the microorganisms carried by the male partner. However, if symptoms such as painful urination occur or if the issues of yeast persist in the female partner, seeking treatment for the male partner from a urologist is recommended. This ensures that any underlying conditions are addressed properly, preventing recurrence and promoting the health of both partners.

In addition to the partner, the digestive tract can also be a reservoir of yeast. It can release yeast and re-inoculate the vagina, causing the yeast infection to come back. Taking a dietary supplement called Yeast Reset may help you clean up the yeast hidden in the gut and help your partner to clear yeast from his urinary system.

If you feel that you get yeast again, you can manage it with these two products:

  • Yeast Clear. This product is a suppository that helps you clear yeast in the vagina. If you only have a vaginal yeast infection, this product alone may clear it.
  • Yeast Reset. This product is a pill that helps you clear yeast in multiple body sites, including the gut, bladder, and vagina. If you have recurrent yeast infection, clearing yeast in other places, including the partner, is important. You can use these two products in combination for yourself and recommend taking the Yeast Reset pills to your partner.
