Can the probiotic capsule taken orally be used for direct vaginal insertion?

Off-label use of a dietary supplement is not uncommon. For example, vitamin E oil is often obtained from a capsule and applied directly to the face to smooth the early signs of wrinkles. Taking a vitamin E capsule orally can help prevent wrinkles, but it may take longer and may not be as effective as applying the nutrient oil directly to the skin.

There are specially formulated vaginal suppositories that deliver Lactobacillus to the vagina. We have only the capsule designed for oral ingestion. It is formulated to be taken orally and to resist gastric acid and survive the journey through the passage in the gut. We normally do not recommend using the product other than oral ingestion.

As a dietary supplement, the product cannot explicitly claim benefits for women's health through different application routes. However, some of our customers have used the product off-label by inserting it vaginally and reported favorable outcomes. As a result, inserting it vaginally may help provide more direct benefits.

We want to give you a gentle reminder. Inserting the capsule vaginally may be tolerated by most, but in some customers, it may cause discomfort, such as slight burning or discharge. The capsule can break after being soaked in the vagnial secretion to release the probiotic content. The capsule may not fully dissolve. It may leak out when you use the toilet the next day. When you see a broken capsule coming out, it is normal.

While oral ingestion can help, it takes a longer route to reach the vaginal tract. Applying it directly allows for a more targeted approach, enhancing its potential benefits. If you are sensitive to the product after vaginal insertion, we recommend that you take the probiotic capsule orally. Although it takes longer time to receive benefit, it is safer, especially if you are sensitive.
