Many skincare products use hyaluronic acid as a key ingredient for promoting skin health. Recently, vaginal moisturizers have also adopted hyaluronic acid to help relieve vaginal dryness. These include Bonafide’s Revaree, NewLife Naturals, Nahid, Evvy hyaluronic acid vaginal suppositories, and vaginal gels like Good Clean Love’s BioNourish, Fidia’s Hyalo Gyn, pH-D, and Gynatrof.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a super large molecule that is naturally produced throughout the body.
Hyaluronic acid is a big molecule. How big is it? It is about 30 thousand times bigger than a glucose molecule.
Due to its jumbo size, the vaginal skin cannot absorb hyaluronic acid because the skin barrier naturally blocks large molecules from entering the skin. As a result, hyaluronic acid delivered to the vagina cannot enter the vaginal lining skin tissue to nourish it.
Then why you feel better after you use a hyaluronic acid gel or suppository?
This is because hyaluronic acid traps water and can release it slowly as a great moisturizer. It delivers water to the dried tissue surface to quench thirst. When dryness is relieved, you feel better. But it does not quench hunger of the atrophied tissue. As a result, the atrophy continues because the tissue only "drinks" water but not "ingests" any nutrients.
Being a water trapper but not a usable nutrient, hyaluronic acid does not reverse vaginal atrophy.
Additionally, hyaluronic acid has safety concerns because many studies suggest that it promotes cancer.
Higher levels of hyaluronic acid are linked to many cancer types, including breast, ovarian, cervical, endometrium, prostate and lung cancers (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9953106/; https://www.mdpi.com/2673-8449/3/4/22). Recent research from the University of Michigan (https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2022/01/220127120154.htm) indicates that hyaluronic acid fuels pancreatic cancer growth. If you or a close family member has a history of these cancers, avoiding hyaluronic acid products may be wise. Although the large hyaluronic acid molecule may not be absorbed by the vaginal skin, its degraded forms can enter the tissue to increase cancer risks. Besides safety concerns, hyaluronic acid gels or suppositories only provide a short-term relief. When vaginal atrophy becomes more severe, painful sex cannot be relieved by just moisturizing. Users of hyaluronic acid start to search for a more effective product. This is the time when they find NeuEve.
NeuEve is more effective than hyaluronic acid because it not only moisturizes but also nourishes the dried and atrophied tissue. It reverses vaginal atrophy by nutritional supplement like calcium for osteoporotic bones.
Additionally, NeuEve promotes vaginal health by supporting a Lactobacillus-dominant microbiome, which helps protect against common infections like BV and yeast. With regular use, NeuEve can enhance vaginal resilience. In contrast, hyaluronic acid-based products, while providing moisture, do not improve vaginal resistance to infection. By moisturizing without bolstering natural defenses, these products may actually increase susceptibility to yeast infections, as some of our customers have reported after using them.
Many hyaluronic acid based products cost more than NeuEve, but are much less effective. For best feminine health maintenance, it is better to start with NeuEve or convert to NeuEve if you are currently on hyaluronic acid based products.
To date, over 200,000 women with vaginal atrophy have used NeuEve and found relief. Among them, many are previous users of hyaluronic acid.

Coming Back
I used NeuEve Silk for a few months and noticed a distinct difference in how moist I was, but decided to try a competitor that uses hyaluronic acid as a test. It did not perform as well (in fact I regressed to pre-Silk stage) so I am returning to Silk.
